R-r-r-r-REEEEMIX.

'Bout to get my tumblin' bloggin' all up in hee-rah. Starting January 1sy, 2012, I will be posting comics. Yes, you heard right, comics. Most likely I will be making a tumblr specifically for the comics, then they'll be here along with other goodies. If all goes according to plan.. IT WILL BE HAPPENING. Fingers crossed and all that. I figure the tumblr will be better for exposure... hopefully. I'm praying this works. Networking would be a dream right! :)

Anyhow, look forward to it! It'll be loaded with carts! Tiny Cory! and Kat & Kiwi. Mostly Kat & Kiwi actually...

Sarah

Education with a side of DANGER plz.

Hey howdy hey, that's me on a yo yo!

So, it's a new year. Yes indeedy do. In fact, this journal is shy almost 2 months now. Go me! I'm just not super into posting writing things. My problem all boils down to ambition... and wanting to put things in this blog. I think it would be easier to do if my art wasn't all hanging out on a separate computer that doesn't have internets, while the one that has internets has the scanner but all the editing software is on the computer without internets... you get my drift.

School's in full swing. Taking Math, Illustration, Painting II, and Art History 101. Math isn't going as well as I had hoped (but everyone says that after the first test... right?), here's hoping and doing it'll get better. Illustration is a doozy. A friggin. DOOZY. For two seconds it's like "Haha! I have some talent!" then the next 3 hours are like "Why. do. I. torture. myself.?." I suppose that that is just the way it is! I guess I can say the same for Painting II. We've got a wild project going on right about now, and for fear of mentioning ANY NAMES (because said person does random google searches... creeper), I'm pretending to have a mentor and sort of copying/studying his style. A cake walk, it is not. Instant gratification? Pretty darn close, I'd say! That's going sort of well... I guess. As for Art History... Cave paintings, Egypt, Greece... good times.

The comic book! The comic book! No epic story this year for me. Working on baby comics... like, 4-6 panel comics. It's kind of fun... :/ Meh. I wish I would've been able to pull something amazing out of my butt like last year, but, nothing doing. Oh well!

Anyhow. That's all for now. :)

Take CARE!

Hey Sarah! How are you feeling today?

Boy oh boy am I glad that you asked that.

Phones suck. Also, money sucks. Phone plans that cost money, suck. I hear vacuum cleaners do as well, but who needs those dumb things?
You know what else sucks?
"Hey. We're canceling your phone plan next October. We were going to do it this month, but that's too expensive. So, pay $20 a month then you're off our plan next October."
...
Ohhhhkay. Cool. Did you know that if I get any plan anywhere else I'll be paying as much as you guys pay for the 4 of us? Thank you for telling me that after I was in a really good mood. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I don't mind paying the $20, but kicking me off makes it really extra special. Thanks for all the help, guys. I really appreciate it.

And by the way, I didn't want to talk to you this morning anyway, boyfriend.

With all the not love that I'm feeling currently,
Sarah

Ranty McRant Pants

Birthday. Tomorrow. 21. Excitment. Harry Potter Party. Awh Yeah.

Jayr wins best boyfriend ever award. Why? 'Cause he's awesome and willing to participate in Harry Potter shenanigans and send out invites! Hooray! We made a monster. monster. MONSTER. cake. It's 4 layers of pure chocolatey goodness. Chocolate cake, frosting, mousse, chocolate chips, and then the whole thing will be drizzled with Hershey's chocolate syrup. I might die... oh well, it's worth it.

Crapdangit, I am going to learn how to sew amazingly! EVEN IF IT PUNCHES ME IN THE FACE! I want some dang comfy shorts and skirts and just cool things. D: AND I DON'T WANT TO BUY THHHEEEEMMMM.

Also, I need a new pair of goggles, a giant orange bow tie, a new camera, and other things that I can't think of at the moment.

I can wish for stuff... tomorrow is my bday. WAHAHA! Oh wait. I said that.

ANYWAYS.

THAT'S ALL
FOLKS.
CAPS.

Oh my ham, this is my jam!

January came and went and now it is June.

The semester went fairly well! I worked on a comic book and almost died! Failed a class! Sang some songs! Punched some bad guys! Found ground owls! Found sand dollars! Ate lots of food! Went to the Getty! Passed math! Painted things! Arted things! Started a club (inprogress)! Saw naked people! Falcon punched with the guys! Wore many dresses! Ate some more food! Ardepithecus Ramidus! Made some new FRENZ! Conquered some restaurants! Started to kinda like comic books! Progressed in the art world (kinda)! Bought an iPod touch! Went to Disneyland! Uhm... I can't think of anything else... but the semester was good. :D

Speaking of the comic book! I'd post the link here, but unfortunately it is not yet available for purchasing online. I don't know why Jayr won't let that be happening, but whatever! Once it is up here though, linkies for shoz.

Anyway, I don't know what else to say except GOODDAY. And moustache.

Loveth,
Sarah

School school school

Let' stalk about school.

The semester looks like it'll be okay. I don't have money for books and supplies yet, but I'll wing it like I always do. I'll be on campus 4 days a week... that's 2 more days than I wanted, but thanks to art classes... y'know.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I have for school. This week has seemed SO long but it's been good.

Sarah

Sneaky suspicion

Some things I've learned over break-
Dance parties in parking lots are the best kinds.
If you spend a whole day with friends, you will sail in and out of weeks.
The mere sight of people you love can turn your whole day around.
Just because you can say stuff, doesn't mean you should.
If you don't keep yourself busy, your brain will run amuck and cause more damage than anyone is willing to deal with.
Singing releases stress.
Snow is freaking cold.
Listening to an epic song epicly loud makes for some of the best good feelings ever.
Breakfast with a friend is wonderful.
Pool halls are random, dangerous, but a good time.
The monkey is good.
Never trust teenagers with scissors or your hair.
Deathing it, joining the circus, and moving are no way to solve your problems.

Yeah, baybeh.

Melt

School starts in about a week. I am not too terribly excited about this. Math sounds like the scariest thing ever, but I've been telling myself that I will get through it... even if I have to lob off my arms in the process! Which would be very unhelpful to my art goals. Haha.

Speaking of art, the comic book work has started. I feel like the world's biggest nerd. Ever. No seriously, NERDY. Everyone says I'm nerdy already so... this has kicked it up like 1000 notches. Not gonna lie, I'm stoked that I get to be actually DOING something productive and something that'll make me feel kinda good about myself... but man oh man. A COMEECK BOOOK.

Funny story time:
I rolled my ankle.
The End.
:D

Man, what I need is a trip to Disneyland.

Love,
Sarah

The "I" monster strikes again!

It's funny how so much can change in 2 weeks. I am man-less. It's a hilariously long story, and I won't bore you with details. Basically, boys are idiots and indecisive. They freak out way too much. But apparently, I have to apologize even though I'm the one in a world of hurt. I need to not get so wrapped up in an idea, 'cause I always end up being hurt. This is not to say that he isn't hurt... but I'm tired of saving face for the sake of him feeling better. It SUCKS.

I was dang close to having an art breakthrough today. It would've been brilliant had I sat down for a little bit longer. Sloth kicked in and my brain decided to think about other things. What a wonder.

It's on a night like this when I so badly want a best friend. I know I have tons of friends and family who love me, I know. I KNOW. IIIIII. KNOOOOOW. But, I think I'm ready to have a best friend FOR REALS.

Anyways, I suggest Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. Freals. DO IT.

Love,
Sarah

Pee Ess, I acquired myself a 'D' in history. My mum's exact words were: ":SMOLDERINGGLARE: THAT IS PATHETIC, SARAH RENE'." which is hysterical to me BECAUSE if I recall correctly, she was the one that said "I don't care what grade you get as long as you learn something." Hey mum, guess what? I learned stuff. mreh.

Who likes November anyhow?

Turkey isn't that cool. But pumpkin pie is. I ate a whole pie by myself during Thanksgiving. Was it delicious? Yes. Was it worth the pain, the tears, the sorrow afterward? Maybe.

Aside from Thanksgiving shenanigans, life's been trucking along. School is out for the all amazing Winter Break. I'm extra happy about that. We're all (asians+3 white girls) supposed to be doing stuff on this fat long list we made at the fish taco place a while back. Unfortunately, this week certain people have family in town and can't pry themselves away AND I'll be gone next week. We will see what happens when I return.

Ranty: I hate that Jayr doesn't call till 11pm. I hope this won't be the case when his extended family are back to their respective cities. I'M TIRED. AND GRUMPY. Christmas has me all stressed! Parental stress now is mine. I hate hate hate hate hate it.

Let's talk about art for a bit, sha-ha-ha-ha-hall we? I'm irritated with my skills... for they are neither skillful NOR awesome anymore. Everything is loaded with extra weaksauce and I'm sick of it. My lines have zero strength, my proportions are awful, and everything is just... WEAK. It's all weak. I need to be taking drawing classes always and forever. No more of this digital media junk... time for some wholesome traditionalness! Here's hoping I get into Life Drawing... stupid stupid stupid MSJC. "Yooh gots-tuh tayk uh buh-ginn-inn drawrin' clarss furhst, cuz yoorh drawrin' n ' comp-oh-zishun clarss did naht transfur." Waow. My whole brain is now fried from typing that. ANYHOW. I have to go in and petition and also sit in the class first day with my sketchbook and BEG and PLEAD with the instructor. I'd benefit from that class, I AM TELLING YOU.

Aside from my art woes, here's a link to some fun times. http://www.digmeout.net/recommend_e/artist.php?i=56 I dig this dude. His lines are slickity slicks.

http://www.getty.edu/art/exhibitions/rembrandt_drawings/ Do I want to go to The Getty over break? Why yes, yes I believe I do.

In other news, I have a man again! Woohoo! Brilliantly timed, if you ask me... as the old one returns tomorrow and apparently he's having a shin-dig that I was made aware of today. :/ Friends want me to go... I do not want. I think it would be extra mean not to... cause we were friends? UNLESS I have an amazing excuse that sounds a little something like I HAS UH DATE TO-NITE. ... no? No. Hm. YES.

Alright, I'm bored. I will say this one last thing: THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME.

Bon nuit.
Sarah

EDITS: Alright, so I do have more to say that I just remembered. Be warned: It's going to come in spurts and not make ANY sense! :B

I'm going to marry an artist. I've decided. Screw musicians, artists are way cooler. They can draw you pretty pretties and it'll be awesome.

This Tavi G gal I mentioned a while back, 13, totally all up in the fashion world. She's extra adorable but dude... she drowns herself in layers of clothes all for the sake of fashion. I'm mildly bothered but I shouldn't be cause it's her life, not mine.

I need me some more sushi, a couple secrets, and a freakin' furnace that will cozy up next to me.
If ony he'd call earlier... ugh. I hope I go on that date tomorrow.

Snow White on blu-ray is the most incredible thing the world has ever seen, I kid you not. My eyes MELTED out of my sockets. Which makes me wonder how the heck I'm typing this up.

OneRepublic's new album is extra brilliant and gorgeous. Good Life is the best track next to Lullaby and Marchin (which totally reminds me of Viva La Vida).

My final was almost 2 weeks ago and I forgot to talk about it. I got to class at 1:45pm to turn in my final because the multiple choice final started at 2pm. Professor made her grand entrance around 3pm. If we do the mathy maths, this is AN HOUR LATE. I was outside on the phone when I saw her walking toward the classroom. I asked her if she was okay and she said yeah, and that it was a long story... that she NEVER explained. Crazy crazy woman. After that, Jayr grabbed me and I felt a ton better.

Alright... that's all!

BON NUIT FOR REALSIES.

What the freeeeakin' hecccckkk?

We begin with a rant.
(On a very early sidenote: Chet, I'm sorry for the rant that is about to be born...)
I. Hate. Illustration. For. Reals. Okay, that seems rather broad... alright. I HATE PROJECT 2 WITH MY WHOLE HEART. I won't be able to finish it! I CAN FEEL IT! That gingerbread house is going to MURDER me and it's my own dang fault for saying "Yeah awesome. Looks awesome!" AND if my classmates find out that I helped pick that beastcow I will be slaughtered/sacraficed to the Gods/massacred/and or beaten to death with Mighty Mouses. I'm going to have to do some SERIOUS illustration work at home or kick Jayr out of the class. The End.

Kay, now, here I come to this part of me. The part that secretly adores fashion. My dear 13 year old cousin said to me today over FBChat: "Hay, look up Tavi G(whateverherlastnameis)." Before this had happened we were chatting about Christian Siriano and how his Spring 2010 design are, GAW-JUSS. So, I trust my dear Emz judgement and look this gal up. Here is the link to... http://tavi-thenewgirlintown.blogspot.com/ ... A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL'S BLOG. She gets free garb and crap just cause she pimps everybody in the fashion world! I would pimp everybody plus 5 to get free garb... CRAPDANGIT! Dude, not only that but she gets to go to the shows. Whattttt. And y'know, I've just proven as to why I don't get awesome stuff like that... I WHINE. But anyways... I see why my cousin enjoys the site. They both are 13, they both dig fashion. ... eugh. Now I feel like a filthy creeeeepppppeeerrrr.

ANYWAYS. Jayr just called and was like "HALP. I NEED A SONG." So he starts humming out this crazy piano tune and I craaaacked up. 5 minutes of time I could've spent doing something else like... BUYING MY OXFORDS. Wooooot.

Well, that's all for today, mansss. Remember, tip your waitresses and do thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssss with your words. It's full of awesome.

Love,
Sarah

P.S. Dude, I just remembered. I GOTTA FIND MY DISNEYLAND PHOTOS! :D

It's called a blog, not a whine.

My weekend consisted of being very frustrated with Rachel. That is all I have to say on that subject. However, my weekend also consisted of saving Mum from locking herself out of the van, feeling like batman, watching a documentary about Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, hanging out with the youngest sibling, and starting Christmas Choir Practice. Shall we go into the "break-it-down"? Yussum. Here we go:

Feeling like Batman and Saving Mum go in the same catagory. Actually, so does hanging out with the youngest sibling. Dear Sarah, learn to sort out your thoughts properly. Moving on... Saturday night was supposed to be the night that I went to the Carnival that the YSA ward was doing. Guess who didn't go? Me. Instead I stayed home with Maggie whilst my Padre wandered off to watch BYU football (they were slaughtered. Poor fellows.) and my Mum went to drop of kiddies at the Halloween dance. Magz and I watched Robots and worked on our toe/fingernails. Padre eventually came back from watching the football game looking rather defeated. Apparently BYU lost to TCU... okay, they were MASSACRED by TCU. 38 to 7. OUCH. Anywho, Padre was about to chill with us when he gets a call from Mum. Apparently my lovely Momma locked her keys into the van while hanging out at Wal*mart. This definitely called for some swift action! Dad, in his Transformer's pj pants and BYU shirt, smashed his Nikes on and headed downstairs to... THE BATMOBILE! Okay, it's not a batmobile... it's a Superbee. IT'S GORGEOUS! Anwyays, to make a ridiculously short story long... haha. We set off into the night at 60mph with Dad at the helm of the great monsterous Superbee. It growled, shifted, and snarled down the fairly busy streets of Temecula/Menifee/Murrietta. We arrived just in time and saved Mum from herself. She rewarded us with sour gummy worms and Elvis Peanut Butter Banana cups. It was an exciting time! Then we headed home. The End.

Shortly after all that happened, Mum arrived home with a butterfly and bee in tow. The Ed Roth documentary was on so my Dad was all kinds of excited. I watched in support of my Dad and also because someday I'd like to be able to draw Rat Fink. That sick, twisted, gross, filthy guy. Awesome. I learned something though... apparently "Big Daddy" Roth hated Mickey Mouse and Rat Fink is bascially the antithesis (I hope I'm using that right...) of him. I will very shortly be looking for a Rat Fink shirt. :) I love the Mouse, don't get me wrong... but like I said... it'd be in support of my Dad. Since my Dad knows cars... I might as well know them too so we can have some common ground. Yay.

Yesterday was the start of Christmas Choir practice. We'll be singing selections from Handel's Messiah. About an hour of them actually. I'm excited but then not. The soprano part is COMEPLTELY RIDICULOUS! Half the music looks like Handel spilled ink all over the page. Craziness.

In normal not weekened news: I'm changing my major to Art. I feel like I've said this twice before...? Dunno, but, I have three reasons for this: Firstly, I won't have to retake any classes since alot of my multimedia classes DIDN'T transfer over. Secondly, I'll be able to get it outta MSJC faster. Thirdly, taking traditional art classes is going to help me hone what little skills I already have. And heaven knows I prefer traditional media over digital. There we have it! Now I have to look into a school. For some reason people keep saying Fullerton. Which would be cool, but I'd like to know how it holds up against other colleges and what kind of programs they have. I really want to get into the Animation field. I just... I need some help! I wish I knew people, cause that would be awesomesauce.

Anwyays, I really have to go. I found a GOLD MINE of info on Romanticism and my thesis seems pretty weak at this point. I need to write the greatest research paper ever... freals.

Alright, I'm out. Fare you well Blogland.

Loveth,
Sarah

Whoooaaaa.

I had this giant thing all typed out, but it was dang whiny and nobody wants to read whiny. I didn't even want to re-read it. So, BUH-LETED. I will say that I don't feel like going to the carnival/dance. Also, I think I'm a bad friend. I thought I was a fairly awesome one... considering all the times I've rushed to Rachel's side to help her figure out her man problems... but you know, what evs. I guess I'm just a bad friend cause I didn't leave with them at 12:30 to help set up when the thing starts at 6:30. Sooorry. Don't want to. But I guess that makes me a bad and unreliable friend.

Anyways, so the other night I bought one of those Barbie keychains. The 1950's one, cause who doesn't dig a freakin' sweet black and white striped bathing suit? Yeah. Awesome. Basically I've been considering do a tribute type thing to her. Yeeeah.

Going to get started on my thesis for history. I'll be doing Romanticism. Woohoo.

Well, I'm feeling really... dumb. I'm out.

Loveth,
Saaaaarah

A Very Potter Musical Act 1 Part 1

I am a dang sucker for musicals... and for Harry Potter. I think I just fell in love.

Bright Star... were I as steadfast as thou art...

Thursday - NOW has been quite enjoyable. Where do I start...? Ah yes. We will start with Thursday.

I saw Bright Star on Thursday night. It's a movie about John Keats and his short lived love affair with Fanny Brawne. I feel bad that everything in the 1800's had to be hideously tragic. Poor bloke died of tuberculosis. Ah well. The movie was GREAT though! They had a gorgeous man playing Keats... so I was happy.

On Friday I saw Where the Wild Things Are. Uhm... yeah. I'm still on the fence about this movie. It DEFINITELY is not a children's movie, I can say that much is absolutely true. I was frightened of the monsters... especially Carol. He scared the poop out of me. I will say that the music was really wonderful and fun, and the film did have silly and good parts. I was still scared though. My Mum ADORED the movie. She says that we didn't understand the fact that each of the wild things represented an emotion. Thanks for the doubts, Mum, that's awesome! I totally got that part of it... but it didn't make the movie any less scary. Whoa though... if we be speaking artwise about the film: Uhm, YES. Artistically the film is GAW-JUZZ. Mhmm, much love for Spike Jonez. Good stuff.

After the movie I took a nap and then adventured to the Happiest Place on Earth. Was there till 1am. The people I went with thought it would be awesome to wait in 60-95 minute lines. In my book, this is a NO. I haven't the patience! It was a good time though. I submit that Space Mountain should be that fast... always. Darker though... yussplease.

Today we went to San Diego to spectate the SDSU vs. BYU game. It was a close game... but the COUGARS won! Much excitement in my life! Unga is my man. He is a beast and could drag both teams down the field. LOVE HIM! Great cheekbones... killer smile.. yusss.

Well anyways... I'm home now, just chillin'. Trying to figure out if I want to to my research paper on The French Rococo OR Romanticism. If I do Romanticism I can write about Keats... hohohoho.

Alright, my voice is broken... which doesn't directly affect my typing... but it sounds like an awesome excuse to GET IT OUT OF HERE.

Love,
Sarah
